For time and all eternity

We were sealed for time and eternity in the Kona Hawaii Temple.  What this means is that our marriage is not "till death do we part."  Instead, we are married forever, a very long time. We had hoped to be sealed in Laie Temple so that more family and friends could attend but Laie Temple was being renovated at the time, so on to Kona it was.

Attending the sealing in the temple were Joe and JaniceAhuna (to the left below) and Milley, Tim and Hinano Lino (Hinano is Tim and Milley's oldest son and a returned missionary [Arizona]). The Ahunas are members of our home ward in Kaneohe.  Tim is a schoolmate of Dayle's (Kamehameha Kapalama).  At Tim and Milley's wedding/sealing back in 1981 at the Laie Temple, Dayle was Tim's best man, but he could not participate because he was not a member of the Church.  Well, today he got to participate.  :-)

A new addition to the ohana

In the early evening, Jacque went out to who knows where.  About an hour after leaving, she was back home again, but she was not alone.

With her was a puppy (7 weeks old):  a female Rottweiler.

I was sitting in the living room reading at the time.  When I saw the tiny dog, to say that I was unhappy was understating how I felt.

Jacque said nothing, probably in anticipation of words of displeasure or rebuke or something from me.

But, just like her, I said nothing, even when Jacque laid the puppy on the living room floor in front of me and it came squirming and stumbling to my feet, with those classic, helpless, hopeful puppy dog eyes.

Jacque later told me that God told her that this dog was destined to be part of our family.  Well, I had other thoughts about that on this night, but what I have come to know is that what she said is true.

She was destined to be part of our family.  We named her Roxy Sasha Turner.
