Haiku stairs work day 1/28/12

We joined the Friends of Haiku Stairs today for a service project to clear invasive plants from the trail/stairs corridor. Led by the two Johns--Goody and Flanigan--three dozen volunteers went to work on the stairs.

I was asked to lead the main ridge team--seven of us, and we were responsible for clearing from the first lookout to the wheelhouse on the summit ridge. Joining Jacque and I were Justin Ohara and Met Lebar from HTMC, plus three others. We had a good day in the Koolaus.

O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely--
